Personality:
Marcel believes that he is Charlottes most dedicated messenger - something like a footservant to a Queen.
He likes organization and preciseness - a perfectionist about mostly everything.
He's very uptight and gets flustered when things don't go according to plan. He usually sticks the blame on other people if things aren't in his favour because he's "perfect".
Marcel thinks he's a good leader, but he has no mercy for those who cannot live up to his standards or those that betray him.
If he asks one of his members to carry out a certain task and the member fails in doing so, that person is dead to him. MANIACAL LAUGHTER

He's pokerfaced a majority of the time.
The ordinaires like to poke fun at him to try and loosen him up a bit, but it's not very effective because he doesn't understand slang and/or indirect messages.
If someone tells him a joke, he'll stare at them, glaring before saying something.

Although Marcel seems coldhearted and unpleasant, he secretly has a soft spot for cute things and collects small trinkets and accessories.
For example, he says that the teacup hat he usually wears is a gift from Charlotte.. when it isn't. Others just give him a lot of shit for it, but if he says it's from the Creator, they shut up. No one is allowed in his room because he has an obsessive collection of cute things in it everywhere.

Sometimes, Marcel contradicts his own rules.

Biography:
Prior to the ability to communicate with Charlotte, Marcel never thought to waste time thinking of what his purpose was for living, or concerning himself about Charlotte. Others would briefly talk about her existence, but the topic never piqued much interest to him.

Although marionnettes are supposedly "perfect", Marcel was not satisfied with his appearance. He was quiet and well reserved and didn't attract many of the other marionnettes. Most of the time he blamed his lack of companions on his image. He told himself that because he wasn't beautiful enough, he didn't have friends. Marcel questioned the point of living. He wallowed in self-hate and lonesomeness and often tried to break himself, in an attempt to crack his porcelain body open to free his soul, yet nothing ever worked. The idea of drowning himself struck him and so he wandered into the forest of forever-blooming flowers in search of any sort of body of water. He came across a glorious tower surrounded by a moat - the water shimmering against the moonlight as if it were calling to him. As he was about to plunge into the lake, the entrance to the tower seemed to open on its own and it caught his attention. A voice echoed. It was the faint voice of a female, humming a melody of some forgotten tune. Marcel followed the sound of the voice to a room flooded with brilliant light. Inside sat a radiant being, her hair glowing as gold as the flame of the candle that flooded the room with warmth. In an instant, Marcel realized he had encountered Charlotte.

The Creator inquired Marcel on what he was about to do. Despite having just met the young lady, he felt like he could tell her anything. She listened, nodding here and there, and asked to examine his worn body. Charlotte, shaking her head, took a beautiful woven cloth from a locked chest in the corner of the room and gently smoothed it over Marcel's body, eliminating the cracks that marred it. She adorned him with a new appearance - clothing made from the finest fabric, hair trimmed and styled to utter perfection. Charlotte told Marcel that he shouldn't think ill of himself; She convinced him that he was a perfect marionnette. Taking in her words and her comfort, Marcel began to develop an obsession with Charlotte. He continued to visit her every day from then on, seemingly more narcisstic than the previous day. Other marionnettes noticed his appearance and questioned him. He explained his meetings with Charlotte and expressed his new ideas to them, preaching of Charlotte's greatness and abilities. He stressed that every marionnette should live their lives free of doubt and ravish themselves in a life of high-class. Curious of more stories pertaining to the Creator, they followed Marcel's lead and thus L'eclat du Soleil was formed. They exist to preserve the current world and keep Charlotte safe.

Over time, Marcel has matured and appears more solemn than when he started talking to Charlotte, though he's developed a condescending tongue.

Opinion of The Creator:
To Marcel, Charlotte is the most supreme being. She is their mother and a child shall never bite the hand that feeds it.
Members of this Elite shall worship the Creator in a way similar to that of God. Any idolism is a crime, for the Creator is not an item - she should be an abstract figure head.

As a member of the Eclat (L'eclat du Soleil), you are to be grateful in being given existence and you must live your new life to the fullest in high class.
One who thinks ill of or doubts himself will be outcasted. Any form of self-doubt or hate is considered an insult to the Creator and against division code.
You are permitted to be arrogant, prideful, etc. because this displays that you are thankful and proud of your existence.
Those that do not carry out this mentality are looked down upon.

Straight to the point - You were created. You will live. You must never question your existence.
You are here because you were meant to be.
Follow these regulations and you are considered pure.
You are superior - the higher society of the rest of the secteurs.

In return for following his lead, Marcel offers his ordinaires a life of luxury.

Personal Hypothesis:
Marcel's theory centers around the concept that at one point, each and every one of the marionnettes were the same beings as Charlotte.
Not only were they the same beings, but they were connected to Charlotte previously in some way whether they were her family, friends, relatives, enemies, etc.
Charlotte has either blessed you to continue with a new life or damned you with a curse of immortality for wrongdoing in the past.
He believes that rebelles are more likely those that did not have a good relationship with Charlotte during that time.

Additional Information:
- Marcel often times starts his sentences with "I think" or "I don't think".
- He loses his left glove a lot
- Extreme kiss-ass towards Charlotte
